Proc table full

I have a SS2 with Sun Os 4.1.3 with the maxusers variable set to 64. They works like a gateway and sometimes I get the proc table full message. How can I avoid this thing ... increase the maxusers to 128 would be good?

1. proc table full with Apache 1.2.4

I just brought up Apache 1.2.4 (was using NCSA 1.5.2). In pretty
short notice, my Sun running 4.1.3, started giving mre proc: table
is full messages. Sure enough there were tons of httpd proccess
running. Anyone know why this is?
