highly profitable business lines, particularly within Fixed Income and
Equity Derivatives. However they are committed to hiring the best

chosen area.
These roles cover design, development and support of systems within a
business focussed group translating user requirements into robust and
reliable solutions, therefore experience of the full s/w development
cycle through to successful delivery and support is key. However
there is plenty of scope for you to use your imagination to assist in
the design and development of these solutions.
Responsibility can be assumed from an early stage with plenty of
formal and informal training in finance as well as in newer cutting
edge technologies offered to enhance career progression.
The basic prerequisite for these opportunities is that the candidate
have a successful academic track record resulting in a minimum 2:1
degree from a major "Red Brick" university in either a scientific or
maths based discipline, and at least 18 mths post-graduation
commercial programming experience. This should include some of the
following: C, Unix utilities and shell scripting. Any experience of
C++ (OOA/D) on Unix, RDBMS, particularly Sybase, and Powerbuilder,
VC++ or Motif GUI tools will be highly beneficial.
