Netscape error: Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server...

Post by Robert Larmo » Thu, 20 Apr 2000 04:00:00

It continues...

Xlib: client is not authorized to connect to Server
Error: Can't open display: :0.0

I seem to remember running xhost or something like that to trick
Netscape.  Any ideas?

Thanks,

Robert

Try following commands at the shell prompt:

# xhost +

then

# setenv DISPLAY <machinename>:0.0

Then

start the Netscape.

Add on your host 'xhost +' to accept connections from any X server or
'xhost +your-peer.name.com' to accept connections from the definite ones.

1. Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server ERROR

In RedHat 5.1, after logging into my ISP and pulling up Netscape 4.5, I
can't run any new X apps.
I get the following message:
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server
Error: Can't open display: :0.0
What could be wrong? Everything's fine before I pull up Netscape. Please
help.
