need BIND 4.9 for Solaris 2.3

Post by Jean-Fran?ois Stenu » Thu, 30 Mar 1995 03:09:08

Hello,

Does anybody out there knows about the secure in.named daemon ?  I guess
it's BIND 4.9 as distributed with NetBSD 4.4. But I'm working on a Sol
2.3 platform.

What I need is a DNS daemon which answers queries to the whole Internet,
but not for his whole database. Which is able to answer "Query refused"
to the Internet and reply with data to my LAN.

What do I need ?  A port of BIND 4.9 to Solaris (in this case, where to
find it ?) or some extra software (firewall related) from Sun ?

Any help apreciated.

BIND 4.9.3beta something will compile just fine on Solaris 2.x

But don't do "make install" as that hoses include files, just
copy named and named-xfer to where you want them.
