when i use another computer dial into solaris server, modem hand on, then

It's difficult to tell what the problem may be without more specific
information.

When you use "cu", "tip", "kermit", hyperterm, or equivalent
to dial into the Solaris server, the server must respond with a "login"
prompt, based on your limited configuration description. If this fails,
then it's a non-PPP problem.  The problem would be with the modem,
serial port, or port monitor configuration.

To use aspppd with a Solaris server, the PPP software on the computer
dialing into the server has to run a chat script (disabled by default
with Microsoft Windows) to respond to the login prompt. Then
/usr/sbin/aspppls on the server must run via login shell or shell command.
If this part works, and debug_level is set in asppp.cf, more information
should appear in the asppp.log.  For PPP problems, we'll need to see what's
in your asppp.log to better help with the problem.

1. Problems with dialing out when dial-ins are enabled

I'm having trouble getting dial-outs to work when dial-ins are
enabled.  I can dial out on /dev/cua1 when getty isn't running
on /dev/ttyS1, but when getty is running I get a message that
the port I'm trying to dial-out on (/dev/cua1) is in use.  I
read the FAQs and everything seems to be set up right.  What
am I doing wrong?

[I'm running SLS 1.02 (0.99pl9).]
