x86 ISA bus device driver interrupts

x86 ISA bus device driver interrupts

Post by Gary L. Schap » Sat, 23 Sep 1995 04:00:00

Anyone know why my device driver breaks when I change
it's driver.conf file to read "intr=15,3" instead of
"intr=3,15" (which works)?  The device is hardware
jumpered to use IRQ 15.

1. x86 device drivers and PCI interrupt

I am writing a x86 device driver for a PCI device. I am now trying
to catch the interrupt which appear on interrupt line 'C' on the
PCI bus.

The problem is, I do not know which IRQ the interrupt is routed to.
There is probably an interrupt router somewhere inside the PC (a
DEC celebris XL/90), but I do not know how to reveal its secrets.

If anybody know something about this, I would be happy to know.
