Compiling olvwm4 on Solaris x86 2.4

Post by Eduard Claudiu » Sat, 10 Jun 1995 04:00:00

Hi,
i tried to compile the patched Version of olvwm4 on a Solaris x86 2.4
with gcc 2.6.3 . During the compilation i got a lot of warnings:

assignment makes pointer from integer witout a cast

and warnings such as:

` ReadColorMap' was declared implicity `extern` and later `static`

then it stoped with:

usleep.c: In function `olwm_usleep`:
usleep.c:38: storage size of `new_vec` isn't known
usleep.c:38: storage size of `old_vec` isn't known

Does anybody know , what the problem is ?

Best Regards

E.Claudius

I'm able to get olvwm-4.1 to compile with Sun's x86 ProC compiler, but
it crashes in RecursiveRefresh on startup:

SIGSEGV 11: segmentation violation (address not mapped to object)

We're using an ATI Mach 64 PCI w/4Mb ram in 1280x1024 mode
if that makes a difference.

Any ideas?  TIA

1. Compiling fvwm on Solaris 2.4 x86

Hi,

When compiling the latest version of fvwm the compiler can't
find the file xpm.h, which among others is included in icon.c
#include <X11/xpm.h>

I've scanned all partitions, and the file xpm.h does not exist.

It is however, possible to undefine the use of this
header-file, but is that recommended? Should I undefine xpm.h,
or try to get hold of it somewhere?
