(x86)Intel Ether Express 10/100 problems!

Post by Jim Grah » Sat, 25 May 1996 04:00:00

Help! does anybody know about the above card? We just popped one into a
pentium system and the error messages are coming in at the rate of about
1/sec. Networking works fine, i can even get anywhere on the internet, but
the following message keeps popping up in the console:

ieef_process_recv(): status=0xb002

The card is autosensing for 10 or 100Mb, but we are only using 10 right now.

thanks,

Jim

What Solaris version, what driver update version are you running?

Cheers, Udo

based on my experience, the driver update doesn't matter, execpt
perhaps that the problems can get worse as you go up in updates.
2.5 DU2 is the worst as it will panic when transfering large files
via FTP through the interface.

I have put this on the shelf and gone with a SMC card.
