SunOS 5.6 is the OS portion of the operatating environment Solaris 2.6.

Technically, it's a subset relation.  SunOS 5.6 is the OS/Core-Networking
part of Solaris 2.6.  The X server, for example, is part of Solaris 2.6, but
not part of SunOS 5.6.
