I know... :)
My point was: what about the future of this Openstep port?
As I understand, there are several (severe?) bugs in the current version.
I would like to know if Sun has _any_ plans about releasing a _new_ version
of Openstep.

Maybe it would be a wise thing to keep Solaris Opensep alive, now that
Apple/NeXT are doing Rhapsody with increased Java support?

I've been waiting for a FCS of OpenStep 2.0 for a long time. You would
think that Sun would at least have announced their intentions by now
as the beta finished up many months ago.

I guess the argument for not continuing to invest in Solaris OpenStep,
even with the doings at Apple, is that "100% pure java" is the only
Win32-alternative with a chance and that there should be no
distractions from pursuing it. The "an implemenation of technical
quality already exists" argument hasn't seemed to influence those with
Java-fever up to this point. (References: RMI instead of CORBA,
JavaBeans instead of OpenDoc).

1. Building Glibc 2.1.2 again, again and again

I finally built my glibc without errors.
And did a "make check" too. BUT where is the result from "make check" ?
It didn't report any errors as far as i could see.
Is there a log of  the outcome somewhere. I've been searching both rthe
source and build-drectories for some summarizing sort of log.
How can i tell if it's ok to do a "make install".

Any hints ?
