Hello There!

It's been a long time since i have been working on
BIND-8. I am currently working on the security
part.

I want 2 disable DNS reverse lookup's..
I searched through many newsgroups but couldn't
find an answer to it...

If someone can tell me how to do it i will be
oblidged.

Thanking you,
Patrick Abreo.

first question is why ?

are youtrying to disable  the reverse lookup proccess at the unixhost ?
I don't see a logical reason on why or how this could be done without
disabling DNS on that machine ? (i.e removing the resolv.conf and dns
entry in nsswitch.conf )

If you are looking at stopping the DNS server for having authoritive
records for a in-addr.arpa zone, then just remove that zone from you're
nameserver or entries.
( I don't understand why you would have a need for this )

Huh?  What are you trying to do?  DNS lookups have a client and a server
do you want your client (or all clients?) to not do the lookup in the
first place, or do you want your server to not respond to them?

I think if you give us some more information about the problem you're
trying to solve, you'll get better ideas.
