I have checked Sun's hcl but all they have listed is an old dx4-100.
And Gateway's support page only shows Microsoft products.

1. Installing Solaris 2.6 on Gateway 9100XL portable
I am trying to install Solaris 2.6 on a Gateway 9100XL portable
(Work gave it to me, I would never buy one).
It uses Phoenix BIOS 8.12 and has a Toshiba MK2103MAV 2.16GB IDE hard
drive. In the BIOS is an option called
Large Disk Access Mode
When that is disabled, Solaris can find and install without out any
problems. But it will not be able to write to the Master Boot record
Partition so I have to boot it using the Configuration floppy. Also, I
can't boot or load Windows 95 or NT while the Large Disk Access Mode is
disabled. I tried Partition magic and it doesn't help. I wouldn't mind
having to go into the BIOS each time it boots, but after installing
Solaris, then installing Windows NT, I switched it back and the Solaris
partition was corrupted.
Does anyone know of any software that will allow me to install both of
these operating systems?
