and 2.7 (7).
If you're lucky, a so-called "reference implemenation" may run on Solaris
2.4...

First you need to know the machine architecture (sun4c, sun4d, sun4m or sun4u).
Check this with "uname -a".
I assume you have "sun4m" - then the best for JAVA and security is to install
Solaris 7 (2.7).
(Solaris 7 comes with JDK 1.1.6, but I recommend to "upgrade" to JAVA 1.2.x and
wipe-out the complete JDK 1.1.x...)
