Post by Edgar Valencia Figueroa » Fri, 27 May 1994 07:05:58

Hi there!!
        We want to install a gopher service in our machine (SparcCenter 10,
Solaris 2.2) but we want to use Wais for the indexing of a database.
        The problem is: How can I tell to gopher that we want to consult a
Wais indexes?
        The version of gopher that we use is GOPHER2.014.
        We succefully install gopher (we don't have probles with the
compilation), but when we can tell to Gopher that acces WAIS index,
Gopher tells that there is nothing available for us.
        We modificate the gopherd.conf, etc... and nothing!!!

        What can we do?

        Any help is needed!!!
        Thanks in advance !!!!

1. Help with WAIS & Mosaic...%^)

  Hola amigos!!!

  I am working with Mosais as front end and WAIS as search engine for a
lot of documents, it works fine, BUT when I want to index a HTML doc I
have some problems...
  The hiperlinks to inlines images, doc's, etc will break, I read in a
document from NCSA that one solution is to use absolute URL's inside the
document, it doesn't work for me %^(.
  The text I handle is very very large, and inside it I have separated
documents with CR's like this....

<cr>
   Nombre:....
   Carrera:.....
   .. .... ...  a lot of info .....
<cr>
   Nombre:....
   Carrera:.....
   .. .... ...  a lot of info .....
<cr>
    ... etc

  Now I want to put an image for each document, I put it this way:

<cr>
<a href="http:/tzetzal.../some/where/img1.gif></a>
<cr>
   Nombre:....
   Carrera:.....
   .. .... ...  a lot of info .....
<cr>
<a href="http:/tzetzal.../some/where/img2.gif></a>
   Nombre:....
   Carrera:.....
   .. .... ...  a lot of info .....
<cr>
    ... etc

  And indexing like this:

waisindex -export -d /some/where/test -t para -T HTML info.html
   the -t para option works fine for the documents, but I don't have
inlined images..

        Any idea?
        Thanks in advance
