KDE & KVT

KDE & KVT

Post by Frank Ecsed » Fri, 11 Dec 1998 04:00:00

Solaris 2.6, KDE 1.0 pkg

When I bring up KVT the stty settings are messed up. I get no echo, no
CR/LF. It will not accept "stty echo icanon", "stty sane" or any other stty
commands. When run xterm, of course, it works perfectly, and KVT works just
fine under Linux. Any ideas how to fix this?

1. KDE kvt & /etc/utmp (`who am i`)

Why doesn't kvt create an entry in /etc/utmp?  Because it doesn't do
this, `who am i` never returns anything, and `logname` always fails.  No
matter how many kvt sessions you start up, the `who` command will never
show any of them.

I'm not sure whether this is a bug or whether I'm just missing
something.  None of the documented options appear to affect this
behavior.
