Will Ultra 5 memory work on an x86 motherboard??

Hey all-

I have a newer Ultra 5 that is on the fritz.
I know the memory is good though, and thought
I'd move over the memory to my x86 box
while they fix the Ultra 5.

Will the memory fit/work?  The memory
chips ALMOST fit on the Intel motherboard,
and the pins on both x86 memory and
Ultra 5 memory are identical.

It seems though that the Ultra 5 memory
is just a bit too big.

Can I use the Ultra 5 memory on my
x86 motherboard?

Thanks-
David Whipple

Before you buy.

1. Ultra 1 memory banks + Sparc to x86

Facts :
- I've heard Ultra 1 can be populated ONLY with 128 or 256 Mo RAM.
- I've seeked Sun's site : no precise answer about that (or I have not
searched enough !).
- I'm willing to port C++/Motif applications from Solaris 251 Sparc to
Solaris 251 x86.

Questions :
- Can I have 196 Mo on Ultra 1 boxes ?
- Does anyone know sites or FAQs dealing with Sparc to x86 portability
issues, other than Sun (using any search engine gives too much
unrelated answers) ?

Many thanks - E. PROST
