I would really like to buy a Sun Ultra 20 but I don't have the money so instead
I'll try to build something similar and need advice on Solaris 10 x86
compatibility.
Are Solaris 10 x86 likely to work on this configuration ??
CPU: AMD Opteron 148
Motherboard: ASUS SK8N
Any input on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

says Solaris 9 will run on SunFire Opteron in 32-bit mode.
I thougt, 64-bit port for x86 has been complete ages ago
(at about the same time as a full 64-bit SPARC? 2.6?)
Are there any official commitments for 64-bit Solaris x86,
or speculations only are possible so far?
