Quite simply - I cannot get this compiled on my Solaris 2.3 SunSPARC
10. Does there exist Solaris 2.3 specific insturctions / modifications /
binaries anywhere ?

... and c-news, or should I be using something else ?

Frustrated :-{

Would say, use INN. I got it to compile and work after some twiddling with
the dbz stuff, despite I thought Solaris2.3 _can_ do MMAP I got it to work
only by switching MMAP off. Anyone ?

Here we go again ....

Attached is a diff between my config.dist and config.data. I built inn1.4-sec
following the instructions in the FAQ-part04 including getting ALL the gnu
stuff. I used gcc-2.5.8 and NO BSD compatibility stuff. I have not had any
problems. The only thing I would change is the egnugrep to grep. That way
you don't have to do newgroups manually - but then I can selectively newgroup.

1. NNTP-1.5.11 nntpd hangs up

I looking for the src of a working!! nntpd for linux.
I have compiled all the different version of nntp-1.5.11 even the
new nntp-t5  all seem to compile ok but all have the same basic  fault.
that is when run the daemon takes 89% of CPU or does a segmentation fault
or just dumps.   Its not my news configuration that is the problem not lack
of RTFM as my news works perfect with the daemon that i compiled 9 months ago
but since have lost the src code for it ;-(   so... help needed !!-)

my daemon header is nntp-1.5.11 (10 Feburary 1991) + Auth

as far as i can see NONE of the nntpd version supplied in the Linux SLS
Slackware NET-2 work correctly.. some do function yes! but those that
function do take all avail CPU.
others fail with a dump!! when you do.. NEWNEWS * 920101 00000
or some valid date...

So please some constructive idears.. other that RTFM..

Barry..
