inetd and ssh

inetd and ssh

Hi, I just tried installing ssh2 on a Solaris/x86 system here.  The
output of uname -a is

SunOS plight.lbin.com 5.4 generic i86pc i386

I configured everything the same way as on a sparc based system
(SunOS light.lbin.com 5.5.1 Generic_103640-03 sun4m sparc) and a
Debian GNU/Linux
(Linux amazon 2.0.34 #2 Thu Jul 9 10:57:48 EST 1998 i586 unknown).
Both of these latter installations work perfectly.

On the Solaris/x86, the sshd2 works if started directly from the
shell.  However, if started from inetd, connections will be accepted,
but hang somewhere in the middle of the authentication protocol.

The inetd.conf line is

ssh stream  tcp     nowait  root    /usr/local/sbin/sshd        sshd -i

(the same as on the working systems).
Is this a problem with inetd, and are there relevant patches?
