how to use "last" to show "xterm" info?

Hi there,

When I run xterm, it will get recorded in /etc/utmp,
and then I can use "who" to get who are using it.
When I kill the xterm window, the entry get erased from
/etc/utmp, so when I do "who", the info is gone.

But I want to keep all of the xterm log info. So how can
save all these info to /etc/wtmp, so that I can
use "last" to see all the histories?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul
