In CDE.. when I press the lock button... the display is not locked and
the following message are found in errorlog..

Wed Jun 19 08:47:02 1996
dtsession: Unable to lock display due to security restrictions.

how to fix it.. any idea?

Have you changed the root password on the machine?

Try:
chkey -p
keylogout
keylogin

That might fix it - I had this problem too.

Let me know if it doesn't.

The same thing happened to me. I just installed CDE again and it worked fine!

Have you installed NIS+ root master on the other server and mount
directory from that root NIS+ server??
