Newbie have PERL problem inder Solaris !!!!!!!!

We have perl version 5.6.1 on SOlaris 8.  I am doing ORACLE 10g Agent
installation and have error messages come out.  I check the error messages and
it relate to PERL.  the error is similiar to:

/ade_autofs/ade/perl/bin/Solaris/Opt/lib/5.6.1/sun4-solaris
/ade_autofs/ade/perl/bin/Solaris/Opt/lib/5.6.1
/ade_autofs/ade/perl/bin/Solaris/Opt/lib/site_perl/5.6.1/sun4-solaris
/ade_autofs/ade/perl/bin/Solaris/Opt/lib/site_perl/5.6.1
/ade_autofs/ade/perl/bin/Solaris/Opt/lib/site_perl .) at
/home/app/oracle/product/agent/sysman/admin/scripts/semd_common.pl line 31.

my environment have following setup:

ORACLE_BASE=/home/app/oracle
ORACLE_HOME=/home/app/oracle/product/agent
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/app/oracle/product/agent/lib:/usr/dt/lib:/usr/openwin/lib:/usr/local/perl/lib/5.6.1/sun4-solaris:/usr/local/perl/lib/5.6.1

Thanks.

>LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/app/oracle/product/agent/lib:/usr/dt/lib:/usr/openwin/lib:/usr/local/perl/lib/5.6.1/sun4-solaris:/usr/local/perl/lib/5.6.1

You should not set that environment variable. You've likely hopelessly
confused the Oracle Agent process about where to find its dependencies.

Errgg.  Go read http://www.visi.com/~barr/ldpath.html to see why this is
a bad idea.

You'd be after the variable PERL5LIB
Although there should generally be no need to set it unless you've
specifically installed perl modules in a non-standard location.

In which case, Oracle likely ships a shell script wrapper.

1. FreeBSD newbie having ISP connect problems - route problem

Hi !

I am -almost there with my connection to U-net - I have recently moved onto
FreeBSD 2.2.5 from Linux. I can dial up, get the connection, login, and it
appears to link up successfully:

ppp[1434]: LCP: State change Ack-Rcvd --> Opened
ppp[1434]: Phase: NewPhase: Authenticate
ppp[1434]: Phase: NewPhase: Network
ppp[1434]: LCP:  IPADDR [6] 194.119.189.62
ppp[1434]: LCP:  COMPPROTO [6] 002d0f00
ppp[1434]: LCP: Received Echo Reply (2) state = Opened (9)
ppp[1434]: LCP:  IPADDR [6] 194.119.189.62
ppp[1434]: LCP:  COMPPROTO [6] 002d0f00
ppp[1434]: LCP: OsLinkup: 194.119.130.2
ppp[1434]: LCP: Received Echo Reply (3) state = Opened (9)

At this point, if I do an ifconfig tun0, it confirms that PPP is up and
running. If however I try to ping the nameservers on 194.119.131.65 and 66,
they aren't there (no route to host). Can anyone please help - it must be
something very simple ?  Some working examples would be useful - I have had
a working setup with Windows 3.1x, Win 95, OS/2, Linux - I seem to be a bit
stuck here though ?

Thanks, Peter
