by I'm trying to install an Enthernet Card (Sun Part# 501-1881) on a
SparcStation 2 (4/75).
After doing a reconfigure boot (boot -r or touch reconfigure, boot), the
system seems
to find the card, but it doesn't configure it.
The power & link light is on, and the RCV light is flashing (from
broadcasts on the net), but
# ifconfig -a
doesn't show the card (le2).
# grep le2 /var/adm/messages
le2 at sbus0: SBus slot 3 0xc00000 SBus level 4 sparc ipl 5
At the ok prompt, I type
ok show-devs
le2 at sbus0: SBus slot 3 0xc00000 SBus level 4 sparc ipl 5
If I create /etc/hostname.le2, then
# grep le2 /var/adm/messages
le2 at sbus0: SBus slot 3 0xc00000 SBus level 4 sparc ipl 5
le2: LANCE chip didn't initialize!
Help, please.
