Internet UNIX Server Systems Administrator/DBA

Start-up company based in Research Traingle Park, NC
involved in the development and hosting of on-line
commerce and transaction-oriented applications
accessible via the Internet is looking for an INTERNET
UNIX SERVER SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR/DATABASE
ADMINISTRATOR. This position will involve hands-on,
primary responsibility for configuring and administering
UNIX OS servers connected to the Internet providing a
range of services including HTTP, FTP, mail, Telnet, NNTP
and database. Experience in UNIX database (preferably
Sybase) installation and administration for web accessibility
is a requirement, as is programming experience in Perl
and C. The position will also involve some customer
interaction to provide assistance on escalated support
calls.

Degree in computer science, or BS in mathematics or
physics with a minor in computer science is desirable
but not required if sufficient breadth and depth of
experience matching the position requirements can be
demonstrated.

Candidate must be self-motivated, able to work
independently and have the ability to organize and
execute technical projects from start to finish.
