CDE autoconfig

Post by Massimo Cardac » Thu, 18 Jul 1996 04:00:00

I have created a script that configures automatically my new machines
(Sun) after the OS is installed.
With Openwindows I was also adding a proper menu to our users.

How can I create custom toolbars (not mouse menus) for all the users ?
I'd like to create custom icon toolbar to substitute to the standard one.

Copy the file /usr/dt/appconfig/types/C/dtwm.fp to /etc/dt/appconfig/types/C
Edit that copy to do what you need it to do. When I setup custom Front Panels
for my users I make the changes, made new actions etc. in my own account. I
then took those changes and applied them to the dtwm.fp file and placed the
actions in that same directory.

The process can be more involved than it seems from my outline, but that is
the basics. Load the CDE Answerbook, it provides a lot of good information
once you track it down.
