Hi all,
I was asked to install Jumbo Patch 22 on a Solaris 8 box. I think it
refers to the Recommended Patch Cluster but I'm not sure whether they
are the same thing. Does anyone know what exactly it suppose to be ?
TIA

The kernel update patch series (108528-xx for Solaris 8) is traditionally,Quote:>I was asked to install Jumbo Patch 22 on a Solaris 8 box. I think it

So it might mean "install patch 108528-22 (or later)". On the other hand,
it has been known for people to assume that if a particular kernel update
patch has been installed, so has everything in the same Recommended Patch
Cluster. In this case that would mean (I think) the 1-July-2003 one (or
later). It really all depends on how much of a clue whoever "asked" you
to do this has.

If my showrev states
Domain:
Kernel version: SunOS 5.8 Generic 108528-22 May 2003
Does that imply the "Recommeded Patch Cluster of July 2003" has been
installed.
I am installing WebSphere on a Solaris box and the WebSphere doc
always uses this pharase instead of identifying the patch number.
From you note, can i infer 22 refers to this Patch Cluster?
My uname -X shows:
System = SunOS
Node = MCMB-WEB-01
Release = 5.8
KernelID = Generic_108528-22
Machine = sun4u
BusType = <unknown>
Serial = <unknown>
Users = <unknown>
OEM# = 0
Origin# = 1
NumCPU = 2
Appreciate your help.

No, it refers to the kernel patch revision only.Quote:>I am installing WebSphere on a Solaris box and the WebSphere doc

1. icmp redirect from 1.2.3.10: 1.2.3.22 => 1.2.3.22
Hi,
I've a BIND name server that I turned logging on. In the daily
summary I see messages similar to this:
icmp redirect from 1.2.3.10: 1.2.3.22 => 1.2.3.22
Does this not indicate someone is trying to tell the name
server to use a special route to 1.2.3.22? Can this be
innocuous or is this definitely hostile behaviour? Should
I contact the remote ISP?
TIA, TW
