A million apologies if I am missing something obvious.
I have a Sparc Ultra 10 with a 400MHz SunPCi card in it.
The Ultra is running Solaris 8. I just downloaded and
installed SunPCi software v1.2.1. It was a fresh
install -- I've never had the software before. The
DOS session works fine, both in a window and with an
Now I'd like to install Windows NT on the SunPCi. The
documentation that I have (both printed and downloaded)
seems to only describe how to install Windows 95 and 98
but not NT.
I have an NT Server 4.0 CD-ROM. The only way I know of
to install it is to boot from it. I've tried changing
SunPCi's BIOS settings to boot from "CDROM,C,A" but that
didn't help. I tried the "setupnt.exe" binary from the
SunPCi's drivers/winnt/ directory but it returned "Error:
incorrect CD mounted" and complained about the dosnet.inf
on the CD-ROM (trying to use setupnt.exe was just a guess.)
My main questions on this topic are:
1. What is the _right_ way to go about installing
NT on a SunPCi?
2. Can I create a bootable "NT installation"
diskette and then boot from it, a-la Linux?
3. Are there any specific versions of NT that
will/will not work on SunPCi? (i.e. what
version/type do I need -- server, workstation etc.)?
All input will be highly appreciated.
Thanks for your time,
