change openboot frequency on Sun10+GX

Post by A.Valen » Thu, 20 Nov 2003 17:42:00

I have a Sun10 equipped with a cg6 (cgsix) card.

Dmesg tells it's a single buffered, 1Mb mappable revion 8, so it's
supposed to be a GX/TGX or a GX/GX+.
Both cards have default factory 1152*900*76 but supports also
1152*900*66
(from http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub/Devices/Graphics/GRAPH_GX.html)

I tried to change the default mode from 1152*900*76 to 1152*900*66 via
openboot.

Using "setenv output-device screen:r1152x900x66" has no results, the
sparc still starts with 76 frequency.

I saw some sh scripts using eeprom and some other stuffs, but none of
them really worked.
