fwritemsg: broken pipe

Post by robin_br.. » Wed, 11 Feb 1998 04:00:00

I am trying to set up a secondary name server.  On the secondary, I
get the error "Masters for secondary zone unreachable", I can ping the
master server and it's address is in the named.boot file.  On the
primary server, everytime the secondary attempts a zone transfer,
"fwritemsg: broken pipe" error is logged in /var/adm/messages.  I just
can't seem to get this working.  Running Solaris 2.5.1 4/97 release
with bind 4.9.3.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Robin

1. fwritemsg: Broken pipe

Anybody familiar with the message: named[7034] fwritemsg: Broken pipe?
My message file is filling up with them every 3 to 8 seconds.
Named.run shows a -10 error followed by busy messages for db.cache
servers before it continues on every 3 to 8 seconds.  It suddenly
started to happen on 4/6/98 at 10:30 am to all my nameservers.  The
primary is getting these message more quickly, which suggests the
cause it related to connectivity or propogation (zone transfers?).
The nameservers seem to work fine.  Any help would be appreciated.
