We have a mixed Sunos 4&5 network here. Almost everybody uses tcsh and
this works fine unless
you try to login on a SunOs 2.5.1 CDE console. The .login is not
sourced, e.g. tcsh as login shell is
somehow badly started (not as login shell). The problem does not occur
when doing remote login
or choosing command line login at the CDE.
Does anybody know this problem ?

Nicht mal /etc/profile wird gelesen. Ziemlich verwirrend...
Man mu? dann irgendwelche .dtlogin erstellen oder an der globalen
Konfiguration herumfummeln. V?lliges Fehl-Design.

DTSOURCEPROFILE=true ### is set to true ...

1. Solaris 2.5 /etc/.login not read when login from dt?
Hello,
we modify the file /etc/.login to test for some specific
usernames to restrict access to some machines and this works correctly
when using telnet or rlogin to those machine but it doesn't work when
loging in from the desktop login screen.
Anyone knows a way to fix this?
It's probably not the best way to restrict access but it was
sufficient for us under 2.4. If anyone has a better way to do this
i'm open to suggestions.
This is on a sparcstation4 with tcsh as a login shell.
