netscape 4.5 for Solaris 7

Post by Sheila Core » Sat, 30 Oct 1999 04:00:00

I'm having trouble with Netscape "stealing colors" from my other applications,
including my screen saver.  The other apps have obvious color problems, such as
:  all pink,  or all white, rendering the windows pretty much unreadable.  Is
there a known workaround for this?

thanks in advance,

Try limiting the number of colors that Netscape uses with the -ncols
option (e.g. "-ncols 48" to limit it to 48 colors).

1. Netscape 4.5 "connection refused" on Solaris 7 sparc

I installed the Netscape communicator from the cd included with the Solaris
3/99 Hardware distribution, but I can not get it to run.  It is installed in
the default /opt/NSCPcom directory and running /opt/NSCPcom/netscape on the
console as any user (including root) returns:

Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to server
Error: can not open display :0.0

All other CDE apps seem to run fine, I have not had any trouble with any
other app.
Any help is appreciated

Kirk
