I'm having a color problem in an X application after having ported it
from SunOS 4.1.3_U1 to Solaris 2.5.1, and I'm not sure why.
The original version of the application uses X11R4 and Motif 1.1.3 and
runs and displays on my workstation (a Sun SPARCstation 20 running X11R5, SunOS
4.1.3_U1 and TriTeal VUE). The colors show up fine.
When I build the application on the Solaris machine (an UltraSPARC
running standard SunOS 5.5.1 and CDE) using X11R5 and Motif 1.2.3, run it on
the Solaris machine, and display it on my workstation, some of the colors show
up incorrectly. Not just shadow colors, but widget backgrounds. For example,
a background that is supposed to be gray is now purple.
However, when I build the application on my workstation using X11R6.3
and Motif 1.2.3, run it on my workstation, and display it on my workstation,
the colors show up fine.
Any idea what is going on here? There are a number of variables here,
but the weird behavior is coming from the Solaris machine. I am suspecting
that CDE has something to do with it.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
