How can I tell if Asynchronous I/O is implemented on a Solaris 2.5 box?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure in what context you mean, but the followingQuote:> How can I tell if Asynchronous I/O is implemented on a Solaris 2.5 box?
> Any help will be greatly appreciated.
set scsi_options=0x3d8
if put in /etc/system, will set asynchronous mode on the scsi buses, and may
incur a performance penalty in doing so.
(to switch synchronous mode back on, make the value 0x3f8)

POSIX aio was not *removed* for 2.5, rather it never was present.
There's only Solaris 2.x aio (aioread/aiowrite) just like there was in
SunOS 4.x.
Solaris 2.6 does have POSIX AIO.
