sun net manager fails to start

Post by Karlet » Wed, 12 Feb 1997 04:00:00

Hi,

We have a sparc classic which was running snm just fine until
Sat. when it locked up.  I made a big mistake of not doing a shut down
gracefully... Anyways when I run the snm command it starts and then
hangs using a 100 % cpu.  Does anyone know how to fix this?  Please
email me as I don't see this group at work.  It uses sybase and
everything recovered well.  So it just don't figure.  Yes, I know a
power off is not the answer to fixing a unix box when locked. We lent
out our manual so have nothing to read up on.  Also the answer book
isn't running due to space limitations.  Also, I even tried running snm
-i &   with no luck.  If this is not the place for this question could
someone please guide me elsewhere.

Thanks in advance,

Karlette

1. Sun Net Manager with Solaris 2.5

Folks,

We have the following problem after installing Sun Net Manager 2.3 on
Solaris 2.5.  Trying to start it up gives us the following message:

Error: Can not allocate a read/write cms from a static visual
Error: NULL pointer passed to xv_set

We have racked our brains and exhausted our resources looking for this
error in the answerbook.  Any ideas pleeeez?

Thanks in advance,
Binoy.
