by NC based company is seeking UNIX System Admin for the following position:
Administration of the daily operations of a relational database in a UNIX
environment. (Oracle 7.2.3) on a Sun Sparc 1000 UNIX server, running Sun
Solaris 2.5. Operational tasks include:
*day to day effort that must be performed in order to keep the system
running
* analyzing log files
* taking necessary action dictated by result found in log files
*monitoring the performance of the applications
*administering user access to the system
*system analysis and tuning
*software installation
The ideal candidate will have
-- 4-yr degree in computer related field
-- detailed knowledge of the UNIX operating system
-- 2-3 yrs industry experience in system administration, preferably in an
operations capacity
-- 2-3 yrs experience with SQL
-- Superior problem solving skills
Prefer a candidate with
-- Experience with Oracle/Verity experience
-- Applications developement experience
-- Ability to effectively present information to mgmt and clients
-- Abililty to work independently or with a team
SALARY:
