System Administrator/System Operator wanted in San Francisco, CA.  This is a
3 month plus contract position.

Position Summary:

The System Administrator/Operator will be part of a
world-class operations team that is responsible for
managing the mail centers and networks. The System
Administrator will be expected to install, operate,
and maintain the company's Solaris operations
facility. The individual will configure, troubleshoot,
and monitor devices as well as monitor and adjust the
network performance.

Responsibilities will include establishing and
maintaining operating procedures for the center.

The System Administrator/Operator will maintain the
mail servers (running POP, SMTP, Web-based email, and
more), and perform scheduled maintenance, as well as
troubleshoot Sun/Solaris, Network Appliance, and
Oracle.

The appropriate candidate will need to be an effective
communicator because this role requires a high level
of interaction both with employees and customers

Experience and Skills:

- Minimum of two years computer operator/system
administrator experience required
- Experience working with Sun/Solaris operating system
is required, and any experience with PC and Macintosh
support is also desirable
- Previous experience writing scripts using Perl,
Shell, and/or Bourne
- Experience with RDBMS preferred
- B.S. degree in Computer Science desired (or relevant
experience)
