I am having trouble achieving totally hands-free installation of
Solaris2.6/x86.
I can boot the Device Configuration Floppy from the network and
attach to a JumpStart server with pre-answered config variables in
a sysidcfg file... but this only works for IDE-based systems.
The SCSI-based, x86 systems I need to load have an Adaptec2940U2W
SCSI controller and require a DriverUpdateDiskette (cadp_dpatch) to
be loaded just after the DCA boots and then again later in the load.
I have read Sun Support Doc: 2290-02 which describes
(#1) "copying the cpio image of the DUs" onto the JumpStart server
- and -
(#2) "run 'install! du.sh' from the finish script ....
I am new to Solaris administration and do NOT have a clue as to
which directories/cpio command switches I need to throw to accomplish
#1 above, and am not sure whether #2 is a one-time thing on the
JumpStart
server or 'with each install' via the rules file... (which doesn't seem
to run
any finish script, no matter what I specify)...
