Post by Lukas Karr » Wed, 04 Mar 1998 04:00:00

Hello,

I am haveing trouble compiling pgp5.0i for solaris. I am useing gcc2.7.2
(from sunfreeware.com package) on solaris 2.6 running on a sparc5

There are a few warnings while compiling the software, but the binary
gets compiled. Whenever I start pgpk to generate a key, the binary quits
with Error 11 (Bus-Error)

I do not have any idea what could be wrong. Any help is greatly appreciatet.

TIA

Lukas KArrer

Trouble compiling pgp5.0i on Solaris

I'm trying to install a Xerox 4512 network printer on a Solaris
2.6 box.

I'm executing the folowing commands:

# lpadmin -p Xerox -v /dev/null
# lpadmin -p Xerox -i /usr/lib/lp/model/netstandard
# lpadmin -p Xerox -o dest=192.168.0.50:10000 -o protocol=bsd
# lpadmin -p Xerox -I postscript -T PS
# cd /etc/lp/fd
# for filter in *.fd; do

Quote:> name=`basename $filter .fd`
> lpfilter -f $name -F $filter
> done

# accept Xerox
destination "Xerox" now accepting requests
# enable Xerox
printer "Xerox" now enabled

but the printer is not installed correctly

$ lpr domain.ps
$ lpq
Xerox is ready and printing

$ lpq

Could anybody help me?

1. PGP5.0i on Solaris 7

I compiled PGP 5.0i with gcc 2.8.1 under Solaris 7 with a
bunch of warnings but no errors.

When I try to set up a key for myself, it gets as far as
the line of characters that indicate that one i sbeing
generated but then it quits with "Signal 10".

What is going on?

Thanks,
Pete
