Netscape stalls

Post by Cliffo » Tue, 21 Sep 1999 04:00:00

I have Redhat 6.0. On starting Netscape 4.5.1, it stalls and just
stops there, as if it is looking for something.  After a couple of
minutes, it works fine again. Why? This happens only I logged in
as root oir superuser, but when logged in as other ordinary user,
there is no such problem.
I tried to set the default home page to a page that is on the local
drive. But the problem still persist.

Thanks.

I would never run netscape as root anyway.

1. netscape stall

when i first execute netscape communicator or open big images, a
process
named  /usr/i386-glibc20-linux/lib/ld-linux.so.2 eats up all my system
resources
and I usually have to kill the process. I think it is about the
graphics library. does anyone know what this file is for?
