I know this i a very open question, but I'm stuck in how to proceed:

When I

or mail anotheruser

I used to just write the messagebody ending in a . on the last line.

It seems mail dos'nt recognise the dot(.)

It has never worked on that mashine, but works fine on a Twin- mashine, with
the same binaries. (/usr/bin/sendmail, /usr/sbin/mail) and except domainname
the same sendmail.cf
the same happens if i do a sendmail -V -bt -Csendmail.cf < someaddress.txt
which shows the rule-progress of the address in the soeaddress.txt file on
the twin-mashine.

dns is now functioning and able to resolve the domainpart of the adresses

we are talking sun-sparc solaris 2.6

Use /usr/bin/mailx or /usr/ucb/Mail or /usr/ucb/mail instead (the last
two are probably missing on this system).
