which utilities to print epson file on laser?

I have a file which is formatted ready for printing on an epson
PC printer, i.e. it includes control strings for expanded fonts,
etc.

My Solaris 2.5 system has only a HP Laserjet 5MP. Are there any
utilities in Solaris (or freeware which I could compile) which are
capable of converting the epson-format control-strings to
postscript?

1. Printing with Epson Action Laser 1500

Does anyone know how to or can direct me to how to configure this
printer.  It is supposed to emulate LaserJet II, but doesn't under
Linux.  I have used LaserJet III and IV in the office with no problem.
However, very unsuccessful with my Epson 1500.
