Dear All,

I have written a multicast program under Solaris. The program works under 2.5/2.5.1 but on 2.6, it return the following error :

set*sockopt: Cannot assign requested address

I use the socket and nsl library in the program.

Any advice??

[Pls cc an email  to me when posting to the group. Thanks in advance]

try uncommenting the following lines in /etc/init.d/inetsvc and rebooting,
or just run the last line as root:

#echo "Setting default interface for multicast: \c"
#/usr/sbin/route add -interface -netmask "240.0.0.0" "224.0.0.0" "$mcastif"

that should solve your problem.
