Your drive is toast.  Replace with a new drive.

First tip is to not post your subject in all CAPS.  That is very
rude!.  As for your disk issue..  Hopefully you have a backup as it
will be needed after you replace the bad disk.

Cheers,

Mark

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.I solved the problem without repacing the
HDD.I ran a file system check and fixed some of the inodes and from
thereafter I am able to see all of my mounted partitions.

Thank You,
Sekhar H.

1. Hard Drive Problems: Please Help!!!!

I have a cyrix 233 machine with 32mb of ram and a 2g hard drive.  I recently
experimented with the SuSE distribution 6.2.  With my hard drive being so
small during setup i chose to dedicate my entire hard drive to linux since i
had all important documents backed up.  The install went fine but I wasn't
good enough to figure out how to get all of my periferals working, such as
my printer.  Being a college student with papers to write I had to resort
back to windoze 98 (for the time being, untill i get a bigger hard drive).
My problem is that now i am back in W98 I can only use half of my hard
drive.  Upon reinstillation I used fdisk to delete the 3 partitions that
linux created and then I reformated the hard drive and proceeded with the
W98 install.  After the install windows now recognizes exactly half of my
hard drive.  Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how i can fix it.  I
would also appreciate it if you would send your reply to my email address as
I am very busy and don't always get a chance to check the newsgroup.  Thank
you for any help that you can give me.
