Okay, my account is fine and I can send mail from other machines, so I
know the problem is specific to this machine.
When I first log in I see the console message: NetISAM: read failed.
When I launch the CDE mailtool it asks me if I want read only or
read/write access because it is unable to "obtain exclusive access to
