Slow Telnet response, fast rlogin response

I am running solaris 2.5 on a Sparc20, and I am using DNS for name service.
When I Telnet to the machine from a remote site, I get very poor response. It
works for about 1 minute, then hangs for ~1 minute. If I Telnet to another
machine on our local ethernet, and rlogin to the Solaris 2.5 machine, the
response is fine. This leads me to believe that it is not a problem with the
connection into my site. Is there something I need to adjust.

1. Slow response on eth1, fast response on eth0

HI,

I have a (debian) server for my (small) internet network. It runs
ip-masq, telnet, pop, smtp, apache, sshd, and samba.
From the internet I can use most of these services (not samba), and also
from the internal netwerk (including samba).
The strange thing is: ssh, smtp, telnet and pop respond _very_ slow when
I make a connection from the internal network (eth1), but they respond
fast on eth0. The other services (samba, apache) respond good on both the
interfaces.
I have quite an extensive firewall list (copied from TrinityOS, see

Does anyone know how to get normal behaviour on eth1?
