We borrowed an Omniwriter 26 cd-r/cd-rw from a pc,
and it worked like a charm first time. So we go to
try and buy one for the sun, and discovered
that no one carries them anymore, and, in fact,
Philips now says that they're discontinued, and
don't have a replacement... Great.
So there goes *that* testing down the tubes.
So who out there, who has a similar configuration,
is using a drive that they're getting good performance
out of, and are happy with? Ideally we'd like a cd-rw
drive so we have the option of using the rw media, but
we'll settle for a decent cd-r drive if we have
to. It'll primarily be used for burning the logs that
our lawyers want us to hang onto for 5 years...
