Kernal 1.3.71 killed httpd HELP!!!

Post by Yazz Atl » Sun, 10 Mar 1996 04:00:00

Hi,

I just compiled and installed Kernal v1.3.71 and now for some
reason my httpd server is dead.  I'm using NCSA HTTPD 1.5a.
It was working fine under Kernal v1.2.1.

 ps x |grep httpd

        1599  ?  S N   0:00 /usr/local/etc/httpd/httpd
        1600  ?  S N   0:00 /usr/local/etc/httpd/httpd

I can see its starting fine but this is the Error Netscape gives
me when I try to look at http://crack.antioch.edu/
   ________________________________________________________________
        Netscape: Error
Netscape's network connection was refused by the server:
         crack.antioch.edu
The server may not be accepting connections or
        may be busy

        Try connection again later.
   ---------------------------------------------------------------
Has anyone else seen this before and know how tho fix it?
I would love to get my WWW Server Back and running again!

Thanks In Advance
        Yazz

Hmmm... I am currently using httpd 1.3 and a similar thing happened as
soon as I installed v1.3.72 (and a few earlier ones) - Netscape says
"Cannot connect, broken pipe". Replacing the v1.2.13 kernel fixes the
problem.

No idea why this happens, just so you know you're not alone.

Graham

1. 1.3.71-76: Socket Destroy delayed

using PLIP and rlogin, the connection gets lost after short time,
reloading the PLIP-module helps for the next few moments,
1.3.70 works.

Any hints ?
