You have to be careful with the new versions of Linux. They use MD5 password
hassing as opposed to the Solaris boxes which use SALT based encryption. You
will need to convert your Linux box authentication system to use the standard
password hasing rather than the MD5 technique. At this stage, I don't think
Solaris knows how to decode MD5 passwords. This will mean that it will be
incapable of honouring direct login requests.
