There isn't any existing appc and cpi-c stuff for linux.  I am very
familiar with both appc and cpi-c on the IBM AS/400 Platform.  Need a
more specific Question here.  The information for you to write clients
for appc is availible if you have a specific need mail me I maybe able
to help as I am trying to hack together some of this stuff myself.

The problem with X3270 is that it only supports telnet conectivity.  If
there is no tcpip support on the Front End Processor for the IBM host
then it is imposible to use it.  TCP/IP support for IBM mainframes
requirs that you split the resources of a FEP in half to support a
non-sna protical, a mainframe FEP is a Really Big Money Item.  The only
cheep option is an IP to SNA gateway or a 3172 interconect controller.

1. Program to Program communication?

I have one ksh script that calls a perl script.  I want these programs
to communicate with eachother.  I basically want the perl script to
respond with a yes or no.  I suppose one would think to just use the
exit code of the perl script, but the exit code is reserved for when the
perl script is called by itself.

Thanks for any guidance in this.
