I am trying to setup the connection to my ISP but cannot access my modem
from the chat to dial out, something simple :
/usr/sbin/chat -v "" +++ATZ OK AT
which should reset the modem and request its status, doesnt effect
anything. The modem works just fine with the minicom. As I am using the
/dev/modem as link to /dev/ttyS0 I linked the /dev/modem to a file to
see what each application sends out. What I see then is that the "chat"
doesnt send anything to the device !!!!
Any ideas what could be wrong? Does the "chat" have a possibility to
switch on a debugging level, e.g. to trace the packets it sends and
receives? Or is it just a configuration issue?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am using Suse destribution 6.0
